- WPT Global’s audacious $1-for-$1 Million Tournament has been extended and will now continue to run until the first week of October.
- As a goodwill gesture, WPT Global has decided to gift a seat to the WPT Summer Festival Main Event, worth $330, to all the players that qualified for Day 2.
- The operator stresses that the event has not been extended to reduce the overlay size.
“I know that some will jump to the conclusion that we are postponing the event to avoid an overlay. That is simply not the case.”
WPT Global's audacious $1-for-$1 Million Tournament has been extended and will now continue to run until the first week of October.
The $1 For $1 Million Tournament, as the name suggests, carries a $1 million guarantee for a buy-in of only $1. It is the first time a poker operator has ever promised a seven-figure guarantee with such a minuscule price tag.
The event kicked off on July 20 as part of the operator’s inaugural tournament series, the WPT Global Summer Festival. The $1 For $1 Million, initially, comprised 18 Day 1s running every Wednesday and Sunday, which the operator expanded to 26 Day 1s. Its Day 2 was scheduled to run on August 21 and the final table a day later.
Now, the operator has once again tweaked its schedule to allow more players to play the never-before-attempted event.
