Following the publication yesterday of a story that Everleaf skin Poker UTD will pay back its US players immediately, Minted Poker has countered the offer with one of their own: Minted Poker will refund 200% of all Poker UTD player balances held in player accounts.
“We can confidently say this as we believe the funds held by players in the entire Poker UTD player pool will be less than €2000, so the US share will be much lower than this,” stated Minted Poker representative Neil Butterfield. In fact, Revell himself confirmed, “U.S players represent less than 10% of our players.” The counter-offer from Minted is to “prove [CEO of Poker UTD] Mr. Revell is trying to use a bad situation to [his] personal benefit.”
Yesterday, pokerfuse ran the story that Everleaf skin Poker UTD planned to immediately repay all their US players, with Ashley Revell pledging to reimburse all players personally. Although he did not speculate as to the amount, he claimed that “Poker UTD has thousands of US players” and he had urged players to contact him to facilitate withdrawals. The announcement comes two weeks after Everleaf closed its doors to US players, and concerns continue to mount as the network had failed to communicate with its player base or respond to media inquiries.
Soon after the publication of the story, Everleaf made its first public announcement, first posting it on poker forum 2+2 then sending it to the media. It confirmed that funds were seized in transit to US players, assured players that deposits were secure and would be refunded in full, and apologized for its “lack of communication.” However, the network did not speculate on how funds will be returned, nor give a timeline for reimbursement. It did advise that “effected parties will be contacted in a short while accordingly.”
In an exclusive statement from Minted to pokerfuse today, Minted rep Neil Butterfield stated that the skin “believes fully that Everleaf will put [the Poker UTD] situation right” and shot back at the Poker UTD rep, stating anyone trying to benefit from the unfortunate situation “should be publicly outed.”
“There are many genuine partners and players that need assurances during this time and making these loose statements serves only to attempt to gain free advertising at the detriment of other partners on the network,” stated Butterfield. “Well done Mr Revell you have shown your true colours.”
