MLS Cup Playoffs Weekend Is Ahead – Check Our +1184 Parlay! MLS Cup Playoffs Weekend Is Ahead – Check Our +1184 Parlay!

After nine months of action marked by Lionel Messi’s arrival in South Florida, it’s time for the business stage of the historical MLS campaign.

The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner and his Inter Miami are off to China for postseason exhibitions, having failed to lock in the playoff spot after regressing in the final several weeks of the regular season.

New York Red Bulls and Sporting Kansas City eliminated Charlotte FC and San Jose Earthquakes in the wild card round to join the remaining 14 teams in the playoff bracket.

The 2023 MLS Cup playoffs start on Saturday with the clash between the Philadelphia Union and New England Revolution. Unlike in previous years, Round One is played in a best-of-three series.

In case of a tie in any game in this round, the teams will proceed straight to a penalty shootout. All following rounds (from the conference semifinals to the MLS Cup) will be played as single matches with standard extra-time included in case of a tie.

We cover the inaugural five Round One clashes in a lucrative +1184 weekend parlay.

(4) Philadelphia Union vs. (5) New England Revolution — Saturday, October 28 (5 p.m. ET)

The Union was just seconds away from winning the MLS Cup last year but they’ll have a mountain to climb to secure another final this time around (No. 1 FC Cincinnati will probably await in the conference semis). The first obstacle comes in the likes of the Revs who beat them 2-1 on the last day of the regular season. That said, New England are winless in seven straight away outings, having conceded two or more goals in each of the last four along the way. We’ll go for the home win at the -155 odds.

Pick: Philadelphia Union to win (-155)

(3) Los Angeles FC vs. (6) Vancouver Whitecaps — Saturday, October 28 (8 p.m. ET)

LAFC and Vancouver Whitecaps will lock horns for the fifth time this year in the first game of the Round One on Saturday evening at BMO Stadium. The LA outfit stormed past their rivals with two separate 3-0 wins in the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal in April but the Caps got revenge by claiming four points from two matches in the regular season of the MLS campaign, including the final day 1-1 draw last weekend.

The hosts have the league’s Golden Boot winner in Denis Bouanga, but we don’t like the short odds offered for their win.
Instead, we’ll take the Both Teams To Score option, knowing the Whitecaps have failed to score just once in the last eleven league outings.

Pick: Both Teams To Score (-185)

(4) Houston Dynamo vs. (5) Real Salt Lake — Sunday, October 29 (6 p.m. ET)

Houston Dynamo has lost just once since July 12 and a 0-3 home catastrophe at the hands of Minnesota. A strong end to the regular season campaign secured them the home-court advantage in this round. We consider them big favorites against Real Salt Lake, whom they destroyed 3-0 in August in Utah. Dynamo has also won the US Open Cup by beating Inter Miami in Fort Lauderdale and they’ve bagged eight goals in the wins over Colorado Rapids and Portland Timbers in the last two league games.

Pick: Houston Dynamo to win (-145)

(1) FC Cincinnati vs. (8) New York Red Bulls — Sunday, October 29 (8 p.m. ET)

This is Cincy’s year. We are talking about a team with the best regular season record and only five defeats throughout the entire campaign. Luciano Acosta has all but won the MVP award with 17 goals and 10 assists in the regular season. It is very hard to see the Orange and Blue slipping up on the first obstacle in the postseason, although they are about to face a hot NY Red Bulls side. The Red Bulls produced a fabulous wild card performance in the 5-2 drubbing of Charlotte FC with a hat-trick from Elias Manoel and three goal contributions from John Tolkin. This should, however, count for little when they come face-to-face with the best team in the league.

Pick: FC Cincinnati to win (-110)

(1) St. Louis City vs. (8) Sporting Kansas City — Sunday, October 29 (10 p.m. ET)

Luck was on Sporting Kansas City’s side in the midweek’s wild card round as they eliminated San Jose Earthquakes on penalties (4-2) after a scoreless tie in the regular time. It was a disappointing performance from the Wizards who managed only three attempts on target in the 90 minutes of action in front of the home fans at the Children’s Mercy Park. St. Louis City have the No. 1 seed in the West and we fancy them not to concede two or more goals on Sunday.

Pick: Sporting Kansas City Under 1.5 Team Goals (-175)
