Americas Cardroom, the flagship skin of the US-facing offshore network Winning Poker Network (WPN), will carry out its biggest software upgrade in its 22-year history later today. Last week, PRO shared an exclusive first look at the revamped product, which has been under intense development for more than six months.
In the new software, which will roll out to all WPN skins, all lobby screens and tables have been redesigned with the goal of providing a cleaner and sleeker look, with improved navigation. The tournament section has received significant upgrades, including a customizable detachable widget, overlay alerts in the lobby, a final table streaming indicator and more.
As part of the software overhaul, the network has also undergone a major rebranding, changing its flagship skin Americas Cardroom to ACR Poker. It will unveil a new website and logo. The update also includes new cash game policies aimed at discouraging predatory behavior and protecting recreational players, including a new waiting list system, restrictions to starting new tables, and the grouping of cash game stakes by stakes.
Taking charge of the software overhaul is Owen Gaines, Head of Product at WPN, who spearheaded the platform and user experience revamp. Gaines has two decades of experience in the poker industry, is a four times published poker author, and has 10 million hands of poker under his belt.
PRO caught up with Gaines to discuss the new software and rebranding, its policies and new features, and what the future holds for ACR Poker.
