Since the launch of pokerfuse in April 2011, pokerfuse has been building up a rich database of content on the online poker industry. Since PRO debuted in April 2013, the growth of this database has accelerated.
As of August 2014, we have published over 4,500 news articles and features on pokerfuse and Poker Industry PRO. On F5poker, our new casual poker magazine website, nearly 1500 pieces have already been published.
Across our three brands, we publish more than any other media outlet, with 350 new articles—over 150,000 words—being published each month.
Bolstering this growing database is Newsbeat, our exclusive aggregation of online gaming links—a hand-curated collection of industry news, mainstream coverage, community discussion, interviews, industry media and more. Since its inception in 2013, over 7500 links have been run through the system.
All these are interlinked with a shared internal directory. Companies, people, poker networks, skins, jurisdictions, regulatory bodies and more are all understood by our internal system. Every PRO feature, news article, F5 update and Newsbeat link is joined to this rich database.
For some time, we have used this growing database for our own internal use when researching stories and analyzing the market. Now, for the first time, we are making this tool available free to PRO subscribers with the beta launch of PRO Explorer.
Explorer offers instant search results across our database of over 15,000 articles and links, with advanced filtering using our extensive tag database.
Results as You Type
Start searching in our free-text search and relevant articles will be returned immediately. Relevant directory items will also be shown; clicking on a these tags will further refine the search. You can get even more granular by joining as many tags as necessary.
Automated Summaries
Using machine-learning technology, all news and opinion articles in Newsbeat are run through an automated summation system, producing 300-character brief summaries of the article. Not only does this give you an at-a-glance overview of the article, but full-text search means more accurate results in the search page.
Customize
You can filter to just news, Newsbeat and F5 entries, and a switch at the top changes to a headlines view for quicker browsing. All results pages can be bookmarked, so you can return to your favorite filters whenever you choose.
Just the Beginning
Explorer is in Beta while we improve the interface and enhance the feature set. We have a lot more in the works, including deep integration throughout the PRO web client, but we wanted to get this out to subscribers and solicit feedback as soon as possible.
During this testing phase, Explorer is available to both PRO News and PRO Data subscribers at no cost. When Explorer officially launches, it will become part of the PRO Data tier exclusively.
