French online poker and sports betting operator Winamax has experienced a glorious return to the live poker scene.

From May 5 to 15, 2022, the popular Winamax Poker Open took place at the Casino Gran Madrid in Torreledones and set a new record for the brand. In the €500 WPO Madrid Main Event, 2,182 entries emerged to make it the biggest ever live poker event for Winamax as well as the largest 6-max event in a live field.

During the series, the operator also confirmed the return of its regional tours as well, which had been interrupted by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic and were moved to the online poker platform instead. The free-to-play Winamax Poker Tour will return to France and Spain with two separate finals.

“We finally had the festival we were hoping for with, on top of that, a record attendance that beats Lloret De Mar of 2019 and, as is often the case with Winamax events, a very good mix of amateurs, qualifiers, professionals, semi-professionals, prestigious guests, French, Spanish, all eager to meet up again after more than two years of absence,” Matthieu Duran, the Live Event Manager for Winamax said.
