Just before Christmas, Betfair informed its Canadian customers that they would be excluded from its service in the New Year.
From January 14, Canadian residents will no longer be able to create accounts, and existing customers will no longer be able to use any of its online gaming services. Any pending bets by Canadian customers will be voided on that date.
Betfair primarily operates an online betting exchange, but also runs an online poker skin on the iPoker network among other igaming verticals. The company has not given a reason for its withdrawal.
