The future of online gaming in Connecticut became a little clearer after FanDuel announced that it had entered into an agreement to provide online and retail sportsbook, iGaming and daily fantasy sports in the state through a partnership with the Mohegan Tribe.

FanDuel’s first-ever partnership with a tribe means only one online sportsbook license, through a partnership with the Connecticut Lottery Corporation (CLC), remains to be issued. DraftKings and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation entered into a similar agreement to provide online and retail sportsbooks last December.

Under the agreement, FanDuel will open a temporary retail sportsbook in September inside the Mohegan Sun casino. The sportsbook will feature four live betting windows and 16 self-service betting terminals. A permanent sportsbook location, subject to regulatory approval, is expected to open over the winter.
