Over €3m of French player money stuck on Full Tilt has been successfully processed and transferred to PokerStars, French online gaming regulator ARJEL announced on Thursday.
In total 6418 players have participated in the withdrawal system, that allows players to claim FTP funds and transfer them to PokerStars.FR, from where the money can then be optionally withdrawn.
In total, 75% of all assets held by French players have been claimed since November 2, when the process was first available. The opportunity will remain open to allow players to redeem their funds.
Because Full Tilt does not operate yet in any regulated European countries, the account pairing process between PokerStars and Full Tilt accounts enables those in France, Spain, Belgium, Denmark and Estonia to claim their FTP funds and either use them on PokerStars or withdraw them.
Players wishing to claim funds who do not yet have a PokerStars account must first create an account to be able to withdraw.
PokerStars is still working with the Italian regulator to put together a similar process. Full Tilt never held a gaming license in Italy, so the situation is less clear.
Players in non-regulated countries can log in to the relaunched Full Tilt and either play on the site, transfer it to PokerStars, or withdraw it directly.
US players are still waiting on the US Department of Justice, who has made little progress towards putting a remissions process in place.
