Day by day, the 54th Annual World Series of Poker is getting closer. Poker players and fans worldwide are already planning their WSOP 2023 Las Vegas experience, and we aim to help you make that experience the best possible.
In addition to the complete WSOP 2023 schedule that we regularly update with all the details, we are running a series of articles on all the new stuff you can expect in the upcoming Series. We have already covered the first-ever Badugi bracelet event, the Gladiators of Poker tournament — the cheapest bracelet event ever, and today, we want to tell you more about Ultra Stack.
While the WSOP has run numerous low buy-in tournaments over the recent years, there has never been one with this particular name, so what can we expect from it?

Deep-Stack Experience for Casual Players
Priced at $600, Ultra Stack will be a four-day affair with two starting flights on July 11 and 12. The players surviving initial flights will combine into a single field on July 13, while the tournament will play down to the winner on July 14.
Interestingly, all surviving players will immediately be in the money, so they will return for the Day 2 action knowing they will be getting at least something back for their efforts. This is important for many amateurs and will likely result in more action right from the start of Day 2, as the bubble phase will be done and dusted already.
As the name suggests, this tournament will play deep. Players will start with 60,000 stacks, with blinds starting at 100/200/200. During initial flights, levels will last 30 minutes, increasing to 40 minutes for the second and third days.
The late registration will remain open for 12 levels, and those entering at the last minute will still start with 20 big blinds, which is quite generous for a $600 tournament.
The only thing missing is a guarantee. While most WSOP tournaments do not have guarantees, some special ones often do in some shape. For example, the popular Millionaire Maker promises at least $1,000,000 for the winner. However, the only promise here is that there will be payouts for each flight, and the prize pool will depend solely on the number of entrants.
Players will be allowed two re-entries per flight, and given a very good structure, it is safe to assume that quite a few of those who get eliminated early will exercise their right to join the action with a fresh stack of chips.

Qualifying for the 2023 WSOP
For those looking to join the action at the upcoming World Series of Poker, there are many opportunities to do so online. All WSOP US sites feature satellites for the Main Event, and ROW players can find various satellites and WSOP-related promotions over at GGPoker.
It is not usual for WSOP.com to host satellites for smaller events like Ultra Stack, but if such opportunities do come along, we will let you know.
If you want to compete for a bracelet in Las Vegas this summer and get your money’s worth of poker action, Ultra Stack offers a great opportunity. The buy-in of $600 will give you plenty of chips to work with, and the affordable price of the tournament also allows you to make some volatile plays early on with the view of reentering and coming back to a great stack if things do not work out.
The 2023 WSOP has all the makings of the biggest one ever, and with tournaments like Gladiators of Poker, Ultra Stack, and Deep Stack Championship, it also offers something for everyone. You do not have to be a high-roller to have some fun and a fair shot at a gold bracelet this summer!
