888 Holding’s online poker room 888poker has announced that it has shut 85 fraudulent accounts caught using artificial intelligence software at its online poker room.

From these banned accounts, the operator recovered nearly $100,000 and compensated over 4000 players. The operator says that all this money has been returned to impacted players in October.

Furthermore, 888 has committed to monitoring fraudulent bot activity on a monthly basis, joining the recent trend of increased transparency among operators in order to create a safe playing environment.

“We are proud of our continued progress in tackling bots that use software to create an unfair advantage over real-life players,” said Amit Berkovich, Head of 888poker. “We know that online poker players see bots as a concern when choosing their online poker platform, and we are proud to be leading the way in cracking down to ensure that 888poker provides an enjoyable, safe, and level playing field for all.”
