WCOOP has long been the pinnacle of online tournament series” Online poker behemoth PokerStars has published the schedule for the venerable World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) which will run for three weeks in September.

As PRO had anticipated, the guarantees for the 21st edition of WCOOP are down to $85 million from the $100 million seen last year.

While guarantees are down, the number of tournaments has expanded. There are 104 events lined up, each split into a three-tier buy-in system — Low, Medium, and High. The buy-ins are quite accessible, starting at $5.50 and going up to $25,000 for an NLHE Super High Roller.

For the first time, the WCOOP’s schedule will introduce new Championship events across various formats — much like the live World Series of Poker (WSOP).

In total, 12 events have been designated as a special Championship event — one for each poker variant, including NLHE Progressive Knockout (PKO), 6-Max NLHE, Heads-Up, PLO as well as Women’s Championship event. This takes the total number of individual tournaments to 322 — up from 306 seen last year.
